D’Addario’s engineering team transform Evans G2 drumheads into protective face shields

D’Addario’s engineering team has found a way to transform Evans G2 drumheads into protective face shields for medical workers battling the coronavirus pandemic. The goal is to be in production by April 27th and to quickly ramp up to a capacity of 100,000 face shields per week.

We plan to manufacture these shields as long as they’re needed in NY or anywhere around the globe. We’ve watched the incredible efforts of our healthcare and essential services workers all across the world with great admiration. While we cannot match the immeasurable efforts of these selfless heroes, we feel an immense responsibility to do our part in overcoming this crisis.

We called this Project Excelsior after the New York State Motto, which means “Ever Upward” because it captured the extraordinary determination and can-do spirit of our small team of engineers and product designers. It also typifies our music company’s current credo during the crisis: #WeWillPlayOn.
For health reasons, Aquiles Priester will replace Gee Anzalone at Dragonforce

DragonForce are sad to announce that drummer Gee Anzalone will not be performing on the upcoming US tour. Gee has been hospitalised for Myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. Virtuoso drummer Aquiles Priester (Angra, Tony MacAlpine) will perform on the upcoming Dragonforce US Tour while Gee recovers.
Guitarist Herman Li said, “We will miss our brother Gee on the upcoming US tour, but health is most important. We wish Gee a speedy recovery and we know he will be back on tour with us soon. We want to thank our friend Aquiles for stepping up and helping us out on short notice.”

Drummer Aquiles Priester has just released the first official teaser of the new DVD & Blu-Ray “All Access to Achilles Priester’s Drumming,” which was recorded at the Harman Experience Center in Los Angeles, California, USA. The recording was recorded by Foggy Films with 12 cameras, designed by producers Junior Carelli and Rudge Campos, in partnership with Adair Daufembach, who took care of the recording, mixing and mastering of the new DVD, which was recorded in August 2018.

The pre-ordering of the “All Access to Achilles Priester’s Drumming” DVD & Blu-Ray starts on January 15, 2019. For the release to be even more special and differentiated, the Achilles fans will be able to include in advance purchase the ticket for a single session (exclusive and limited), of cinema in São Paulo, where the blu-ray will be shown in full. The drummer will also hold a launch workshop in São Paulo, followed by an autograph session. More details will be released by the drummer on his complete social network like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
