The brazilian band was founded by Primal Fear\u2019s drummer Aquiles Priester<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 1999, in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, a group of musicians friends, heavy metal fans, entered the studio to record an album called \u201cLast Time\u201d. Despite the title, it was only the first work of the band who had just been created called Hangar.<\/p>\n

Fifteen years later, the friendship continues, as well as the love for heavy metal, but significant changes have occurred. Hangar has become one of the most respected bands in the current Brazilian heavy metal scene with four studio albums and a live DVD released, as well as concerts and tours that thrilled fans from all over Brazil. Nevertheless, Aquiles Priester, founder of the group, has become one of the best and most respected drummers in the world, now also an official member of the German legend Primal Fear and the Brazilian group Noturnall.<\/p>\n

To register these first 15 years of sweat and many achievements, Hangar now releases the compilation \u201cThe Best Of 15 Years, Based on a True Story \u2026\u201d.<\/p>\n

Much more than a simple compilation, \u201cThe Best Of 15 Years, Based on a True Story\u2026\u201d is a picture of the past, present and future of Hangar, as it marks the debut of the new singer, Pedro Campos, and the return of founding guitarist Cristiano Wortmann. The album also brings four new tracks \u2013 \u201cLet me Know Who I Am\u201d, \u201cThe Dark Passenger\u201d, \u201cDenied\u201d e \u201cBetrayer\u201d \u2013 and new recordings of the classics \u201cTo Tame a Land\u201d and \u201cForgotten Pictures\u201d, now with the new line-up.<\/p>\n

Released on a 2-CD set, \u201cThe Best Of 15 Years, Based on a True Story\u2026\u201d also sincerely recapitulates all periods of Hangar. The tracklist brings songs such as \u201cLike A Wind In The Sky\u201d (from the debut \u201cLast Time\u201d), \u201cSavior\u201d, \u201cLegions Of Fate\u201d and \u201cInside Your Soul\u201d from the album with the same title released in 2001, besides \u201cJust The Beginning\u201d, \u201cHastiness\u201d and others from the highly acclaimed effort \u201cThe Reason Of Your Conviction\u201d that was released in Japan in 2007 by Spiritual Beast Records.<\/p>\n

The most recent phase of Hangar with the album \u201cInfallible\u201d (2009) is also registered with the tracks \u201cTime to Forget\u201d and \u201cColorblind\u201d, apart from the acoustic versions for \u201cBased on a True Story\u201d, \u201cSolitary Mind\u201d, \u201cOne More Chance\u201d, \u201cYour Skin and Bones\u201d and \u201cAngel of the Stereo\u201d extracted from the live CD\/DVD \u201cAcoustic, But Plugged In\u201d from 2011.<\/p>\n

According to the drummer Aquiles Priester, \u201cThe Best Of 15 Years, Based on a True Story\u2026\u201d is a register of Hangar\u2019s contribution to the history of heavy metal.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember that every time I saw a band releasing a \u201cbest of \u201c, I started thinking: -Wow, this band has history! Now here I am releasing a double CD with the best that Hangar composed in 15 years since the release of our first album. I\u2019m very proud of our history, as we have always done it alone and moved some large stones from our way. We have done our part in history! And we always had the unconditional support of our fans! This is a special Christmas gift for you all!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Best Of 15 Years, Based on a True Story\u2026\u201d has the same impact of a studio album in Hangar\u2019s discography. So much so that the band has just released a music video for \u201cLet me Know Who I Am\u201d.<\/p>\n

Produced by Making Of Producoes and Foggy Filmes, and directed by Junior Carelli and Rudge Campos, the video was shot in Sao Paulo and it\u2019s the opportunity for the fans to check the firepower of Hangar\u2019s new line-up.<\/p>\n
